Wrestling fans are reacting to a pair of former WWE champions going missing from AEW programming despite appearing on the promotion’s sister-brand. The stars in question, The IInspiration, signed with the Tony Khan-led company earlier this year.
News broke around January that Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay were on their way out of TNA. The erstwhile Iconic Duo were rumored to have signed with All Elite Wrestling the following month, and made their official debut for the company at AEW House Rules Australia, where they defeated Aysha and Frankie B. The following month, The IInspiration wrestled their first match on All Elite Wrestling television, losing to the dominant Brawling Birds on Dynamite.
Cassie and Jessie have been missing from AEW programming since then. During their absence from the company, however, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions have been competing for TJPW and Ring of Honor, which operates as a sister-promotion to All Elite Wrestling. They made their ROH debut with a victory over Viva Van and Frankie B, lost to Hyan and Maya World on tapings from April 1, and defeated B3CCA & Madi Maxx on the more recent tapings from April 6.
Fans have now taken to X/Twitter to comment on The IInspiration being seemingly relegated to the Ring of Honor roster, following just one appearance on AEW’s weekly TV. Several users argued that the duo should have stayed on in TNA, or perhaps returned to WWE/NXT. Others claimed that the former IIconics will continue to be underutilized by Tony Khan, although some commenters speculated on the possibility of Cassie and Jessie developing their skills while performing in ROH and elsewhere.
The IInspiration recently won tag gold outside of AEW
As mentioned earlier, The IInspiration have been spending their time away from All Elite Wrestling competing in ROH and in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. On March 17, at TJPW Texas Stampede in Austin, Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay defeated Shoko Nakajima & Wakana Uehara. Less than two weeks later, on March 29 at TJPW Grand Princess 2026, the duo beat Ober Eats, the team of Wakana Uehara & Yuki Kamifuku, to capture the TJPW Princess Tag Team Championships in Tokyo.

It remains to be seen when The IInspiration will appear again on AEW TV.
