Michael Carrick is now urging Jason Wilcox to break Manchester United‘s transfer record and sign Morgan Rogers this summer.
Michael Carrick now favourite for Man Utd job
In usual circumstances, the interim boss wouldn’t be making such demands, but after an excellent spell in charge, Carrick is now the leading contender to become Man United’s permanent manager this summer.
According to talkSPORT, the former Middlesbrough manager is the favourite to land the position following reports that Luis Enrique is likely to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
Carrick has brought the composure that Man United were desperately crying out for under Ruben Amorim and now has them on course for a shock third-place finish. It has simply been an almighty turnaround.
With Leeds United up next on Monday, the interim boss has the chance to make it eight wins from 11 games. Even if some doubters remains, no one can deny that he’s at least put himself in contention for the permanent gig.
Man Utd now considering move for £50m Anderson alternative who Vivell loves
United need to strengthen their midfield this summer.
Carrick has certainly got plenty to be excited about if he takes the job, too. INEOS have already set their sights on the likes of Elliot Anderson as well as Sandro Tonali as they look to transform Man United’s midfield, and could now listen to their manager’s transfer demand.
Carrick urges Man Utd to smash record to sign Rogers
As reported by TeamTalk, Carrick is now pushing Wilcox to smash Man United’s record for Rogers this summer. The Aston Villa star is valued at around £100m and could be on the move, as the Villans aim to comply with the Premier League‘s financial rules.

It’s easy to see why Carrick is urging INEOS to sign Rogers. The duo worked together at Middlesbrough and now find themselves in the perfect position to reunite at Old Trafford.
This isn’t the version of Rogers that began to show signs of stardom at Boro, either. This is the player who has reached stardom and a player who is ready to grab the headlines on a bigger stage than ever.
Dubbed “fantastic” by Villa boss Unai Emery, the 23-year-old has been involved in 17 goals in all competitions so far this season. It’s no wonder Chelsea, Man United and other Premier League rivals are so keen to land his signature.
Carrick will simply hope to take advantage of his relationship with the midfield star, who would complete the offensive rebuild that INEOS commenced last summer.
