4 Signs Anna Jay Is Done with AEW

Anna Jay has been one of the top stars on the AEW roster. Ever since she joined the Jacksonville-based promotion, she has been promoted as the future of the women’s division. She turned a lot of heads as the only female member of Dark Order. After her run in Dark Order, she moved on to join Chris Jericho in the Jericho Appreciation Society. Despite being one of the best in-ring performers and a popular star on the roster, she has still not been able to win a single championship in Tony Khan’s company. She and Tay Melo participated in the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament, but they lost to Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne in the quarterfinals. Following this loss, the AEW star went on a hiatus. During this time, it was speculated that she would be leaving the Jacksonville-based promotion and joining WWE as soon as her contract expired. However, she made her return this week on Collision and defeated Willow Nightingale. Despite her return, she may still be on her way out of the company. In this article, we will look at four signs that Anna Jay is done with AEW.

#4. Anna Jay got emotional after her win on Collision

Anna Jay had been gone from television since November 2025. Fans didn’t know the reason behind her sudden absence. However, she made her return this week on Collision and faced Willow Nightingale. After a hard-fought battle, Anna was able to win the match.

However, what happened after the match caught everybody’s attention. The former Dark Order member was seen visibly emotional after the match, which was strange since she won. Usually, a wrestler gets emotional when they just wrestled their last match with a promotion and could be on their way out of the company. Her behavior after the match could imply that she might be on her way out of Tony Khan’s company. Otherwise, there is no reason for her to get emotional after defeating a former TBS Champion in Willow Nightingale.

#3. Anna Jay paid tribute to the Bella Twins

The Bella Twins are two of the most iconic women to ever set foot in the WWE ring. They were an instrumental part of the women’s revolution and inspired the next generation of women wrestlers. Therefore, a lot of women have taken to this business because of Brie and Nikki Bella.

When Anna Jay faced off against Willow Nightingale on Collision this week, she paid tribute to the Bella Twins by performing the Bella Buster, which is a signature move of the Bellas.

This was her way of paying tribute to the WWE Hall of Famers. Anna could’ve also done this so that she gets on the good graces of the sports entertainment juggernaut for when she leaves AEW. This could also mean that she is eyeing a WWE run in the future.

#2. Anna Jay recently confirmed that her AEW contract has not been renewed

During her hiatus, there were a lot of rumors floating around about Anna Jay. One of the rumors was that she was planning on leaving AEW for WWE when her contract expired. This caused fans to believe that she would never be returning to the Jacksonville-based promotion.

During a recent Twitch stream, the former Dark Order member confirmed that she had still not signed a new contract with AEW. However, she also noted that all other rumors about her were false.

“It’s not a big deal. But a lot has been going on online. What you guys have been seeing, a lot of it is not true. I guess, allegedly, there was this source, someone I used to work with, and he is no longer working with me as of a few months ago. So, I don’t know exactly if that’s true or not; apparently, it came from him. The only thing that is out of everything that’s been posted is true’s is that my contract is coming up. That’s it. Everything else you guys have seen is pretty much BS.”

In December, there were reports that claimed that her contract was expiring in a few months. If this is true, then it won’t be long before she becomes a free agent if Tony Khan isn’t able to renew her contract.

#1. Tony Khan often gives send-off matches to stars he respects

Anna Jay’s matcha against Willow Nightingale could’ve been a send-off match for her since her contract is expiring soon. Tony Khan is often known for giving send-off matches to wrestlers he respects.

When Jade Cargill and Cody Rhodes were leaving AEW, they both got to perform in their send-off matches. Both stars got to bid an emotional farewell to the fans in attendance. Hence, Tony could be doing the same for the former Dark Order member. Anna was a model star in AEW and Tony could be rewarding her by giving her one last send-off match before her contract expires.
