UPDATE: Controversial Name Suddenly Requests Release; WWE Hall Of Famer’s Daughter Granted Exit [REPORT]

A former WWE star shocked the world with the request for release from her current promotion, which was seemingly granted.

The aforementioned star is Tessa Blanchard, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard. She has been credited as one of the dominant yet controversial stars in professional wrestling. Blanchard had made sporadic appearances in World Wrestling Entertainment in 2016 and 2017, following which she joined TNA Wrestling. However, tenure was cut short after racism allegations emerged against her.

The 30-year-old star returned to TNA in 2024, who is now in a multi-year partnership with WWE, and became one of the top fixtures of the Knockouts division. However, a recent report stated that Blanchard had requested her release from TNA, which was granted. In a follow-up report, Fightful said they did not hear of a specific reason for her exit. However, one of their sources speculated that her allegiance to CMLL (a partner promotion to WWE’s rivals, AEW) could be a reason, and the promotion asked her to decide between the two companies.

Furthermore, they reported that Blanchard’s status with CMLL has not changed and that they had reached out to TNA Wrestling for confirmation, but did not receive an immediate response.

Former WWE star Tessa Blanchard sent out a message to her fans

Tessa Blanchard asked her fans to refrain from calling or texting her continuously, as she has received many calls and messages lately. Her statement implied that her personal number had been leaked online.

“Please Please Please stop calling, FaceTiming and texting continuously if I did not give you my number or you don’t know me personally. & etiquette is to always ask the person before you share their phone number!! I hate to even have to say this! Receiving 27 calls, 13 FaceTimes and 12 text messages within an hour goes beyond fandom!! It’s super inappropriate.”

On the other hand, her reported exit from TNA Wrestling came as a huge surprise, considering her place at the top of the Knockouts division. With Blanchard seemingly headed to CMLL following her reported release, it remains to be seen what is next for her in professional wrestling.
