WWE does it again; announces huge show to counter AEW All In 2026

Tony Khan’s AEW promotion will once again face counter-television competition from Triple H’s creative-led WWE following a major announcement.

The Jacksonville-based wrestling company emerged as a direct competitor to World Wrestling Entertainment since its inception in 2019. Both companies have fought for ratings, spectacular shows, and even exchanged talent to beat each other in a fierce competition. Moreover, the fans have also witnessed AEW and WWE run major shows on the same day and time on numerous occasions over the year.

During the broadcast of the NXT Great American Bash 2026, it was announced that WWE will host an AAA x NXT: Heatwave show on Sunday, August 30, in Edinburgh, Texas. Interestingly, it will run on the same day as AEW’s premier event, All In 2026, set to take place at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Despite that, we believe it might not be a wise move for the global juggernaut to go head-to-head with All Elite Wrestling on the day of their biggest show, as it could drastically hurt their viewership.

A wrestling veteran said AEW is going to force WWE to become better

In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman discussed the importance of All Elite Wrestling and the changes it has brought to professional wrestling. Following up on that, wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman said that Tony Khan’s promotion is giving wrestlers a massive alternative to WWE.

At the same time, The Coach also added that it would force the Sports Entertainment juggernaut to become better. He concluded by saying that All Elite Wrestling might not catch up to WWE financially, but it definitely will in terms of fan interest.

“At some point, All Elite Wrestling is gonna force WWE to be better. They just have to. Maybe not today, but down the road they’re going to catch WWE. Maybe not financially, but in terms of fan interest, because they’re going to make WWE better,” said Coach.

With WWE set to air an explosive joint show on the same day as All In 2026, it will be interesting to see how this huge counter-programming plays out this August.
