“They play as individuals. Not as a team”: Chad Ochocinco calls out Vinícius Júnior & Brazil for getting bullied by Erling Haaland & Norway

Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup journey came to an end after a 2-1 defeat against Norway in the round of 16 clash on Sunday. Norway sealed their first World Cup quarterfinals by defeating a star studded Brazillian team.

The Seleção were led by their talisman, Vinicius Jr., in this year’s tournament. However, former NFL player turned analyst Chad Ochocinco called out the star attacker for not taking the penalty against Norway in the 14th minute.

“They got all the talent, but they play as individuals,” Ochocinco said. “They don’t play as a team. They don’t have that ‘Joga Bonito’ anymore. They don’t have that soul, they don’t have that magic. The only player that they do have is Vinnie (Vinicius Jr.), you know, who’s supposed to be their superstar.

“They had a penalty kick and Vinnie didn’t step up to take the PK. That’s your moment. So, think about this. They lost the game, right? Yeah, they lost the game 2-1. The game should have been 2-2 to work. He should have taken that PK. Why is Bruno taking the PK in a moment like that? It’s supposed to be your best player that’s going to pitch.”

Bruno Guimarães, who took the penalty instead of Vinicius Jr, failed to convert from the spot after a good save from Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland.

After 79 scoreless minutes, Norway’s superstar striker Erling Haaland jumped over Brazilian defenders to give his team the lead with a thumping header. He doubled their lead 10 minutes later with an outside-of-the-box strike.
