Bellingham scores 2 goals in 99 seconds at Azteca | theScore

Mexico versus England at the Estadio Azteca promised to be an all-time World Cup thriller.

It lived up to the hype.

Jude Bellingham scored twice in 99 seconds in the first half, and then Julian Quinones cut the deficit in half before the halftime interval for El Tri.

It was a manic opening half. Somehow, things went to another level after the break.

Jarell Quansah was sent off in the 54th minute following a VAR review for a studs-up tackle.

Six minutes later, Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot to give England some breathing room, but the England captain then conceded a penalty at the other end in the 69th minute, and Raul Jimenez answered with a spot-kick of his own to complete a breathless opening 20 minutes to the half.

The Azteca was absolutely rocking, but England held on with heroic late defending for a memorable 3-2 win after more than 12 minutes of second-half stoppage time.
