    Paddy Pimblett names Conor McGregor as his “perfect fight” ahead of Irishman’s UFC 329 return

    Paddy Pimblett recently opened up about the “perfect fight” for him and named Conor McGregor as his preferred opponent.

    Pimblett is set to face Benoit Saint Denis in a lightweight battle on the UFC 329 fight card on July 11 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. McGregor will mark his long-awaited return to action against Max Holloway in the main event of the same card, nearly five years after his last fight.

    If Pimblett beats Saint Denis and McGregor beats Holloway again, the Liverpudlian sees the Irishman as the perfect opponent for him. In a video shared to his socials, Pimblett claimed he’d love to face McGregor at welterweight and said:

    “The perfect fight, for me, would be Conor. It’s mad, to be honest, because I won seven fights in a row, and I don’t think my stock went up as much as losing my last fight. I beat people like Michael Chandler, Bobby Green, and Tony Ferguson. Then I went and half got my head punched in for five rounds, and my stocks went up. People are saying I lost, but I won, you know what I mean? In my eyes, I lost. There’s no two ways about it.”

    He added:

    “My stock has gone up because I had a five-round war with a legend like Justin Gaethje. I want that back, I want to fight him again before he retires… Mad being on the same card as Conor McGregor, the biggest name in the sport. It’s nice for him to be back… If McGregor wins, and I win, I want to fight again before the end of the year. I’ll fight him at welterweight at MSG… Anything can happen.”

    Paddy Pimblett recently shared his take on the Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway rematch at UFC 329 and believes the Irishman has what it takes to beat ‘Blessed’ again. McGregor beat Holloway via unanimous decision in their previous meeting at UFC Boston in August 2013.

    In an interview with UFC on TNT Sports, ‘Paddy The Baddy’ backed McGregor to win and said:

    “Because it’s at welterweight, I see Conor knocking Max out. Everyone’s counting Conor out. If it goes to the later rounds, yeah, Max will definitely probably start piecing him up on the feet. But because it’s at welterweight, I think Conor, because Charles made Max look smaller at lightweight, so imagine how big Conor is going to look compared to him at welterweight.
