Chelsea‘s long-standing policy of investing in elite young talent could soon take them to Paris, with the Blues among the clubs keeping a close eye on one of French football’s brightest emerging stars.
Ibrahim Mbaye has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past two seasons and is now regarded as one of the finest teenage attackers in Europe.
Still only 18, the PSG academy graduate has already broken into one of the strongest squads on the continent, earning regular opportunities under Luis Enrique despite fierce competition from established international stars.
His rapid development has convinced many that he has the potential to become PSG’s next homegrown superstar.
Mbaye made 31 appearances across all competitions last term, scoring three goals while continuing to earn Enrique’s trust in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
Although many of his appearances came from the bench, his willingness to attack defenders, explosive pace and confidence in one-v-ones repeatedly caught the eye.
After switching his allegiance from France’s youth teams to Senegal, Mbaye quickly established himself in Pape Thiaw’s senior squad.
