Jon Jones found himself at the centre of another social media storm after comparing himself to Mahatma Gandhi. Many fans viewed the post as tone-deaf in light of his own legal history.
The former UFC heavyweight champion wrote that he was looking more and more like Gandhi, a remark widely interpreted as a response to the recent arrest of former opponent Anthony Smith:
“Your boy over here looking more and more like Gandhi these days.”

Numerous fan replies accused the UFC legend of lacking self-awareness, with users referencing his previous legal troubles, including his domestic violence case, hit-and-run conviction and other past arrests. One fan wrote:
“Not really, you hit a pregnant woman and then ran off after returning to the scene to retrieve dr*gs. And we could go on and on. Plus, God knows what else you actually got away with that the police didn’t happen to come upon.”

Jon Jones reveals why Lewis Hamilton called him a coward and blocked him on social media
Jon Jones has revealed the unusual reason behind his falling out with Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton. In a recent interview with ALF Global, the former UFC heavyweight champion recalled receiving a lengthy message from Hamilton after posting a video of himself hunting wild pigs from a helicopter in 2021.
According to Jones, Hamilton strongly disapproved of the hunting method and criticised him for taking part in it. Jones said the seven-time Formula 1 world champion unfollowed and blocked him before he had a chance to respond:
“Lewis saw me shoot the pig from a helicopter… He wrote me a long message saying that I was a coward, and that he thought that I was better than that. He said that the traditional way of killing animals should be with a spear or a bow and arrow. And he was saying like, only a coward would shoot an animal from an helicopter, to give the animal a chance to fight you back, at least.”
He added:
“He unfollowed me, and he blocked me. And it sucked because I was his fan. I was a fan of him, but he was very disappointed for shooting the pig. So Lewis, if you’re listening, I’m sorry, bro. I’m sorry. Won’t do it again.”
