AEW star Dustin Rhodes recently sent out a message to a former WWE star who left the company just a while back.
The aforementioned star, who is a multi-time WWE World Champion, is Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior had been part of the Stamford-based wrestling promotion since the late 2000s, with a remarkable tenure of more than a decade and a half. After his last appearance on RAW in November 2025, it was revealed that Sheamus was dealing with an injury and remained on the sidelines. Last month, it was reported that Sheamus’ contract was coming up for renewal, and he had refused to sign a restructured deal from TKO.
On July 11, the former WWE Champion left the global juggernaut upon contract expiry and confirmed his departure in a social media post. He recently dropped another post showing him with his dog and two glasses of Guinness. It caught the attention of Dustin Rhodes, who took to his X to say:
“Miss u dude!!!”

“I promise to continue my in ring work to be as hard as ever. Knowing that my legacy is in tact, I feel I still have plenty to prove. My number 1 goal when, I started this journey, wast be a World Champion. I don’t think its too late for me, because I am damn good at what I do and will continue to strive for that. Do you think its in me to be world champ? I DO!” he wrote.
Dustin Rhodes is at the last leg of his illustrious career. So it remains to be seen if he will be able to win a World title before hanging up his boots for good.
