Jadeja was dressed in the Indian team’s blue training kit when he was spotted leaving the stadium and heading towards the team bus. As he noticed the cameras, the all-rounder stopped briefly and performed the famous hand-under-chin gesture associated with Allu Arjun’s character from Pushpa: The Rise.

The celebration, inspired by the character Pushpa Raj, has become a familiar part of Jadeja’s public persona. The India star has previously used the gesture during cricket matches and has also recreated various movie-inspired moments on social media.
Jadeja first became particularly associated with the Pushpa celebration during India’s T20I series against Sri Lanka in 2022, when he used the gesture after taking a wicket.

The fun moment came shortly after Jadeja produced an impressive all-round performance for India in their three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI. The left-handed batter scored 63 off 117 deliveries in India’s first innings, hitting seven boundaries and sharing a crucial 74-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, who went on to score a century.

Jadeja also contributed 22 runs in the second innings before retiring out. With the ball, he claimed four wickets across the match, returning figures of 2/64 in the first innings before taking another 2/33 in the second. He also provided some entertainment during the game by playfully imitating Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling action. With the first Test against Sri Lanka scheduled to begin in Galle on August 15, Jadeja’s form with both bat and ball will provide India with an important boost heading into the series.
