Iyer led India to a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe, providing stable contributions in the middle order across all three matches. He scored 28*, 25, and 27 runs in the series, guiding a young Indian squad smoothly as captain.
Earlier in the UK tour, Iyer struggled against Ireland as India suffered a surprising 2-0 series loss. He bounced back strongly against England, smashing 68 runs in the opening T20I and adding an 80-run knock later in the five-match series. However, India lost the five-match series 4-0, with the first T20I washed out due to inclement weather.
Iyer will now shift his focus to upcoming limited-overs assignments, including domestic fixtures and preparing for India’s upcoming international white-ball series. The Men in Blue will play their next T20I when they square off against the West Indies for a five-match series in October.
