He has broken the world half-marathon record in the Argentine capital by running the 21,091 meters in 56 minutes and 51 seconds.
El récord vigente era el de Jacop Kiplimo cuando en las calles de Lisboa el pasado mes de marzo corrió el medio maratón en 57:20. Recordar que Kiplimo en Barcelona en 2025 fue capaz de correr la distancia en 56:32, que seguiría siendo la mejor marca mundial pero no fue homologado por World Athletics en una decisión más que polémica.
El otro récord de la jornada en Buenos Aires fue el de participación, con 31.500 corredores en la línea de salida.
