To get the Bishamon Sword in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, you must first complete the main campaign on any standard difficulty. Finishing the story once is mandatory, as this unlocks the brutal New Game+ difficulty known as Carnage mode.
Once unlocked, you must start a new campaign specifically on this setting. Carnage mode drastically reduces your parry timing windows, removes reaction cues, and makes basic demon attacks nearly lethal in a single hit. Once you complete the entire game on Carnage mode, you will finally get the Bishamon Sword.
The Bishamon Sword holds a sacred place in franchise history because of its role in the original Onimusha: Warlords. In that classic game, obtaining the sword was completely optional and required players to survive the twenty punishing floors of the Dark Realm to earn the Bishamon Ocarina.
Using that Ocarina on a bizarre bone door just outside the final boss arena granted Samanosuke this devastating weapon. What made the Bishamon Sword truly special was its absurd overpowered nature.
It eliminated all standard demons with a single strike, chewed through boss health bars in seconds, and granted completely infinite magic energy. It served as the ultimate power reward for winning the game’s toughest optional trial, making its legendary reputation among action game fans.
