A fast, nearly flat 10K that preserves the essence and route of one of the city’s classic races, but arrives with a new identity, four superpowers, and an experience designed to turn every runner into a hero for a day.
Málaga has a new date for running enthusiasts. On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., the inaugural edition of Hero Run Málaga · EL Torcal La Paz will take place, the evolution of the historic urban race EL Torcal–La Paz.
The race preserves one of its main attractions: its classic 10-kilometer urban course, fast and largely flat, ideal for runners seeking a strong time as well as for those who simply want to enjoy running through Málaga.
The start will be located on Avenida Manuel de Torres, in EL Torcal, and the finish on Calle Beethoven, in La Paz. Between them lie 10 kilometers through the Cádiz Highway District and some of the most recognizable spots in this area of Málaga.
MISMO 10K. UNA EXPERIENCIA COMPLETAMENTE NUEVA
Hero Run Málaga is born to give a new dimension to a race with a long history in the city. Sport remains the protagonist, but around the 10 kilometers a new experience is now built, inspired by the superhero universe, coinciding also with a weekend when Málaga will be alive with pop culture and comics.
The concept is simple: we all have a superpower. We just need to discover which one belongs to us.
Therefore, when signing up, each participant must choose the superpower that best represents them. Each one will have their own technical shirt and their own identity:

A RACE TO RUN FAST
Hero Run Málaga preserves the sporting spirit that has characterized EL Torcal–La Paz for years. Its course features barely 35 meters of positive elevation over 10 kilometers, with a predominantly flat urban route and only one uphill stretch in the final meters before reaching the finish line. A perfect profile for those looking to challenge themselves over the 10K, to attempt a personal best, or to begin in this distance.
The race will also include an aid station at kilometer 5, a cloakroom, pacers, timing, photographic coverage, accident insurance, and a special aid at the finish line.
LOS PEQUEÑOS TAMBIÉN TENDRÁN SUPERPODERES
Hero Run Málaga won’t end when the last 10K runner crosses the finish line. From 11:00 a.m. onward, the stage will be for the future heroes, with children’s races for boys and girls aged 5 to 15 and distances adapted to each category, from 100 to 1,500 meters. In this way, Hero Run aims to transform the morning of October 4 into a true family sports celebration.
2,000 HÉROES. ¿CUÁL ES TU SUPERPODER?
The inaugural Hero Run Málaga will have a limit of 2,000 participants. Registrations for the 10K are open, and each runner can choose the superpower and the shirt they want to take on the challenge with.
