On Monday, September 14, the Orlando Pride announced the extension of star forward Barbra Banda’s contract through the 2029 season.
Per ESPN, Banda was signed with the NWSL’s High Impact Player mechanism to extend Banda, who is one of the best players in the league.
“Barbra is a cornerstone of everything we are building at the Pride,” said Caitlin Carducci, Orlando Pride vice president of soccer operations and general manager, in an official statement.
The Zambian soccer player has had a stunning NWSL journey. She was a part of the Orlando Pride team in 2024 that won the Shield and the Championship and in 2025 scored the fastest hat trick in NWSL history. She currently has 14 goals in 19 appearances this season and is one of two major contenders for this year’s Golden Boot award.
