Aaron Judge is the New York Yankees’ captain and most important player, with eight All-Star selections, three AL MVP awards and several other notable honors to his name.
The Bronx Bombers have desperately missed his offensive production for a large chunk of the campaign, as he missed 84 games, spending a total of 99 days on the sidelines, after suffering a right rib stress fracture in late April.
Though Judge did make his much-anticipated return to the field as the Yankees took on the Colorado Rockies on Sep. 8, it appears fans’ relief was short-lived. On Friday, ESPN’s Jeff Passan posted to X, announcing that the slugger is set for another stint on the IL, this time due to a right calf strain.

“The New York Yankees are placing star outfielder Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain,” Passan posted to X.
Reacting, several fans left comments voicing their frustrations.
“Dude can’t catch a break this year. I hope this isnt a recurring thing for him muscle strains can be lingering issues and calf strains if coming back to soon can be an issue,” a fan wrote.
“Stanton and him are made of glass. Good lord. All that money to only play 30% of the season,” another fan commented.
“What did he do to strain his calf? He certainly wasn’t running the bases. How do these superior athletes hurt themselves so easily. And please, 34 is not old,” another fan replied.
“Losing Judge to the IL right before October is a complete catastrophe. Their entire season just went on life support.” another fan responded.

Aaron Judge decided to exit the Yankees‘ game against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday due to tightness in his right leg, and there is a decent chance that issue could be linked to his recent calf injury setback.
After Wednesday’s game, Judge spoke to reporters, revealing why he chose to leave the game instead of playing through the discomfort.
“Tried to kind of play it off and see how long we go because these games are important down the stretch,” Aaron Judge said. “But kind of talking over, thought it’d be the right move to come out so we don’t cost the team on the field or cost the team on the base path.
“Stuck out there for a couple innings, but just especially going to an off day tomorrow, didn’t think it was smart to push it too much here. Like I said, I didn’t want to cost the team on the road, the way the game was going.”
With the playoffs right around the corner, Aaron Judge now faces a race against time to get back to full fitness in time for the most important phase of the year.
