AEW veteran MVP recently reacted to the retirement of a beloved wrestling star on social media. Montel has been one of the company’s key assets. He usually accompanies Hurt Syndicate to the ring. He hasn’t been seen on TV for a long time. Recently, Ganon Jones Jr. announced his retirement from wrestling.
The independent star was part of the tag team action in which Andy Williams wrestled his last match. He and Duke Davis wrestled the Butcher and the Blade at Enjoy Wrestling a couple of weeks ago. Unforunately, during this match, the Butcher collapsed and later passed away.
Recently, Ganon Jones Jr. took to Instagram and revealed that he is announcing his retirement from pro wrestling. The star wrote in his statement that he hasn’t been well after the incident and that his daughter also fears for his well-being.
MVP paid respect to Ganon Jones Jr. after the latter announced his retirement.

MVP talks about his retirement
Since signing with AEW, the former United States Champion has wrestled a handful of tag team matches alongside the Hurt Syndicate. However, he may not have many matches left.
While speaking on Marking Out, MVP said he doesn’t have the explosiveness in the ring that he used to. He also pointed out that he is focused on being a father now.
“My ability to wrestle at a high level is deteriorating because of time. I don’t have the explosiveness that I used to. And let me be real with you. I don’t have the desire. My passion for actually getting in the ring and having that match isn’t what it used to be…Even when you’re like LeBron (James), where you spend millions of dollars on your body trying to stay at peak performance with nutrition, supplements and training, and there’s all of these things to do to keep your body at peak performance, Father Time’s undefeated, man,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for the AEW veteran, as he hasn’t been part of a top storyline for a long time.
