The latest ICC Women’s Player Rankings have brought significant movement across the T20I and ODI charts following a busy period of international cricket. India spinner N Shree Charani continued her remarkable run by retaining the top position among T20I bowlers, while several other players also made notable gains across the rankings.
Charani has been in outstanding form over the past month, helping India win both the T20 Asia Cup and the Asian Games gold medal. She picked up 20 wickets in eight innings at an average of 4.85 and an economy rate of 3.3, including two four-wicket hauls. Her career-best figures of 4/10 came against Japan in the Asian Games quarter-final.
N Shree Charani strengthens position at top of T20I bowling rankings
Charani’s consistent performances have helped her reach a new high of 817 rating points, setting a record for the highest-ever career rating points achieved by a women’s T20I bowler. The India left-arm spinner surpassed the previous record of 806 points set by Australia’s Megan Schutt in November 2018. The 20 wickets she collected across eight innings have further strengthened her position at the top of the rankings.
Her ability to maintain a low economy rate while regularly taking wickets has made her one of India’s most influential bowlers during their recent run of success. Deepti Sharma also retained second place in the T20I bowling rankings, ensuring India occupy the top two positions on the chart.
England’s Sophie Ecclestone remains third, while Smriti Mandhana returned to the top five among T20I batters after playing an important role in India’s Asian Games triumph. Mandhana scored 79 in the final against Sri Lanka, helping India secure the gold medal and strengthening her position among the leading batters in the format.

Hayley Matthews climbs after record-breaking ODI knock
Hayley Matthews was another major beneficiary of the latest rankings update after her outstanding performance in the ongoing ODI series between West Indies and Zimbabwe. The all-rounder smashed 182 in the opening match, helping her move three places to fourth in the ODI batting rankings. The series is currently level at 1-1, but Matthews’ huge innings has given her a significant boost in the batting charts.
She has also retained the No. 1 position among T20I all-rounders, underlining her consistency across the shortest format. Zimbabwe’s Nyasha Gwanzura also made a notable jump after producing a career-best performance in the second ODI. She claimed four wickets to help Zimbabwe win the match and climbed 52 places to No. 156 in the ODI bowling rankings. Her teammate Modester Mupachikwa was another big mover from Zimbabwe, rising 16 places to a career-best No. 40 in the ODI batting rankings.
