Welcome to the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s AEW News & Rumor Roundup. Today, we are covering stories involving top pro-wrestling stars, including the late PAC and Bayley, among others.
An ex-WWE name has made her debut for Tony Khan’s promotion after months of keeping her wrestling future under wraps. Meanwhile, details have surfaced about the sudden d*ath of AEW star PAC, who has received an outpouring of tributes from stars such as Bayley. With that said, let’s begin the roundup.
#5. Sirena Linton has made her debut in Ring of Honor; left WWE after WrestleMania 42
Sirena Linton officially debuted for Tony Khan’s sister promotion, Ring of Honor, appearing at the television tapings on September 28, 2026. WWE released Linton following WrestleMania 42 in April as part of company-wide budget cuts, and she confirmed her departure on social media in May. After keeping her next career step private for four months, the 24-year-old made an immediate impact upon her arrival in ROH by directly challenging reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.
Linton earned a Proving Grounds match against the champion, giving her a chance to secure a future ROH Women’s World Championship shot if she defeats Athena or lasts until the match’s time limit. Linton previously competed in WWE’s developmental system and was featured on the WWE LFG show before her release.
#4. New report has surfaced providing details on AEW star PAC’s Sudden Death
Tragedy has struck AEW and the wrestling community following the sudden passing of PAC (real name Benjamin Satterley) at age 40. The former AEW World Trios Champion and International Champion competed at All Out 2026, where he lost to Andrade El Idolo in the opening match and later attempted to interfere in the main event between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay. AEW officially announced his death the following day, prompting an outpouring of grief across the industry.
As reported by the New York Post, PAC was found unresponsive inside a vehicle parked outside a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois. According to emergency dispatch audio, authorities received 911 calls around 4:00 p.m. from restaurant patrons who saw the wrestler slumped over in his car. Witnesses tried to locate medical equipment inside the restaurant to assist before emergency medical personnel arrived. Medics reached the vehicle shortly after, and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office declared Satterley dead on arrival at 4:08 p.m.
#3. Bayley shares emotional tribute for PAC
Bayley paid a classy tribute to PAC during the September 28 broadcast of Monday Night RAW. The former multi-time WWE Women’s Champion wore a black armband bearing her former NXT colleague’s name during her televised appearance. The Role Model wore the armband while interfering in a match between Lyra Valkyria and Iyo Sky, ensuring her late friend was honored on live television.
Before the show, Bayley posted an emotional message on Instagram, accompanied by a slideshow of photos from their early days together in WWE’s NXT developmental system. Expressing her love for Satterley, Bayley joined a vast network of performers across WWE, AEW, and the independent circuit who shared personal tributes to the British high-flyer.
CM Punk reacts after WWE pays tribute to PAC on RAW
CM Punk joined the wrestling community in honoring PAC following WWE’s televised tribute on Monday Night RAW. The former WWE Champion shared a photo of the late wrestler on his Instagram story to commemorate his memory. Although CM Punk and PAC were on the AEW roster at the same time, the two stars never faced each other in a televised singles match during their respective tenures in the company.
All Elite Wrestling meanwhile also confirmed that the upcoming Wednesday Night Dynamite episode will be entirely dedicated to celebrating the life, career, and achievements of the former AEW World Trios Champion. The tribute show will feature matches and segments honoring Satterley’s immense contributions to professional wrestling.
#1. Marina Shafir reminisces about recent memories while remembering PAC
Marina Shafir delivered an emotional speech about the passing of her Death Riders stablemate, PAC, during an appearance at a Warrior Wrestling event on Sunday. Shafir, who ran interference for the late star during his AEW National Championship match against Andrade El Idolo at All Out 2026 the day before, spoke candidly about her grief. She reflected on their recent moments together, saying she was just holding him yesterday and expressed immense gratitude for being able to tell him she loved him.
During her address, Shafir praised PAC’s modesty, dedication, and self-awareness, crediting him with bringing out her inner toughness and shaping her into the performer she is today. She stated that she would not be where she is without sharing time and space with him alongside their Death Riders teammates. Shafir also urged everyone in attendance to express love to those close to them.
“I was just holding this man yesterday… Wrestling will drive you to places in your mind… He was the best. He was the f****** best, you know why? ‘Cause he knew himself, and I think, that just took him.. He was just so modest about how fascinating he was, and.. I don’t know how to be, say our thank you… He was the light of us.. Please tell the people you love in your life that you love them. I am just very happy that I got to tell him that I loved him yesterday… He brought the inner basta*d out of me. I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t share time and space with this man, alongside a lot of other f****** people,” said “The Problem” Marina Shafir.
The wrestling community recognizes PAC as one of the most talented wrestlers of his generation and one of the kindest souls outside the ring. From all of us at Sportskeeda, we extend our deep condolences to the bereaved.
