Prasidh Krishna Injured, CSK Pacer Gets Team India Call-Up

Team India have suffered a major blow ahead of the third ODI against West Indies as fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out due to injury. The selectors have already announced his replacement, with CSK pacer Anshul Kamboj receiving the Team India call-up.

Prasidh’s absence is a concern for India, especially because Jasprit Bumrah was already unavailable for this ODI series. With Prasidh now ruled out as well, India’s pace attack suddenly looks short on its most effective options.

However, India have quickly brought Anshul Kamboj into the squad as his replacement.

Anshul Kamboj Gets Team India Call-Up

Kamboj has impressed considerably in recent times, particularly for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026.

The CSK pacer picked up 21 wickets in 14 matches and finished as the fourth-highest wicket-taker of IPL 2026. His performances showed why he has emerged as an exciting fast-bowling option.

One of Kamboj’s biggest strengths is his ability to generate movement through the air. He can make the new ball move, while his control over yorkers has also improved significantly.

Another important aspect of his bowling is his experience at the death. CSK regularly trusted him with difficult overs towards the end of an innings, and he showed good control over his yorkers and length deliveries.

Kamboj’s Death Bowling Could Help Team India

This is where Kamboj could potentially provide something valuable to India.

He can make an impact with the new ball, but his ability to operate at the death makes him an even more useful option. If he can reproduce the kind of performances he delivered for CSK, he could add an important dimension to India’s pace attack.

Kamboj’s call-up therefore looks like a good replacement for the injured Prasidh Krishna.

However, Mohammed Siraj is most likely to come into India’s playing XI for the third ODI. Siraj was already part of the squad and provides India with a more experienced option for the immediate contest.

For Kamboj, though, the call-up is another reward for his recent performances. His new-ball movement, improved yorkers and death-over bowling have earned him an opportunity with Team India, and it will be interesting to see whether he can create the same impact at the international level.
