Run along the Atlantic Ocean, cross one of the most recognizable landscapes of Fuerteventura, and choose the challenge that best fits each runner. On December 12, Corralejo will once again become a meeting point for running enthusiasts with the 4th edition of the Dany Sport Corralejo Grandes Playas Mahox Marathon, a gathering that unites sport, nature, and tourism in the north of the island.
The event offers different distances with the aim of opening the experience to runners of varying levels and objectives. The 42.195 kilometers of the marathon represent the great challenge of the day, while the half marathon, at 21.097 kilometers, provides an alternative for those looking to tackle a demanding distance without completing the entire marathon route.
They are complemented by the 10 and 5 kilometer races, which also enable participation by those who prefer shorter distances or are taking their first steps in this kind of competition. Additionally, the 10- and 21-kilometer modalities are inclusive, which broadens participation and reinforces the open character of the event.
The youngest participants will also have their space with the children’s races to turn the event into a sports day where runners of different ages and levels can take part

“We want this marathon to be rendezvous where runners with very different objectives and levels feel welcome. Having multiple distances, inclusive modalities and children’s races allows us to bring sport closer to more people and turn the day into a celebration for the entire municipality,” says Gleiber Carreño, the Councillor for Sports of the La Oliva Town Hall.
Beyond the distances, all formats share one of the event’s main draws: the surroundings. Corralejo, the Atlantic Ocean, the Grandes Playas, and the Corralejo Dunes Nature Park accompany a route where the athletic challenge coexists with some of the most distinctive landscapes in Fuerteventura.
The marathon celebration also invites you to discover the island beyond the race itself
For those who travel to Fuerteventura for the event, the occasion can become an opportunity to extend their stay, explore the island’s north, sample its cuisine, and enjoy Corralejo’s atmosphere.
“This race offers a different view of Corralejo, linking sport, scenery and tourism. Those who come to participate in the race also find an opportunity to get to know our municipality, enjoy its natural surroundings and discover Fuerteventura beyond its kilometers of competition,” states David Fajardo, the Tourism and Environment Councillor of the La Oliva Town Hall.
The 4th edition of the Dany Sport Corralejo Grandes Playas Mahox Marathon is backed by the La Oliva City Council, through its Departments of Sports, Beaches, Tourism and Public Health; the Island Council of Fuerteventura and its Department of Sports; the Canary Islands Government Department of Sports and Promotur Canarias Tourism.
Next December 12, Corralejo will once again bring together runners ready to face their own challenge: 5, 10, 21, or 42 kilometers in a setting defined by the Atlantic and the dunes of Fuerteventura.
