Daniel Levy reportedly admits Harry Kane buy-back clause at Tottenham fan event

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly revealed a buy-back clause is in the deal that saw Harry Kane sign for Bayern Munich.

After becoming Spurs’ all-time record scorer last season, the 30-year-old swapped the English capital for Munich in the summer.

Kane signed for the Bundesliga champions in a deal worth £100million, the club’s most expensive signing ever.

He could have spent one final year in north London and left on a free next summer but opted to make the move in the summer.

Given his age there is still a chance he could return in the future, and that could be made even more possible thanks to a buy-back clause.

At a fan forum on Tuesday night, chairman Levy has been quoted saying: “There is a buy-back clause.”

Kane scored 280 goals in 435 appearances across all competitions for Spurs, with 32 of those coming in his final season.

He has certainly not lost his impressive scoring ability since moving to Germany having netted four times in his first five games.

Ahead of Bayern’s Champions League clash against Manchester United, live on talkSPORT, reports claim that Kane preferred a move to the latter.

The striker also appears to still be paying attention to his former club, who have so far shined under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

“In terms of Tottenham, yeah fantastic start,” he said on Tuesday. “I’m always keeping an eye on them. I think I’ll always keep an eye on Tottenham for the rest of my life.

“I’m really happy to see the team playing the way they are and of course to see their fans happy as well is a great feeling.

“I’m sure they’ll be excited to keep that up. They have a massive game [away at Arsenal] coming up so yeah for sure, I’ll see how they get on over the course of the season.”
