Premier League fixtures today – your guide to Sunday’s games

There are two big games featuring sides in the top half of the Premier League to look forward to on Sunday afternoon.

After Saturday’s seven top-flight fixtures, Sunday sees four teams with hopes of European qualification collide with Arsenal and Manchester United involved in tough away matches against West Ham United and Aston Villa respectively.

Arsenal need to build some serious momentum following the 3-1 victory over title rivals Liverpool last weekend. That win lifted them back into title contention but the bubble will burst if they come away from London Stadium with anything less than three points.

The visiting Gunners are favourites given West Ham’s recent underwhelming patch of form, though the Hammers beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates at the back-end of 2023 and also eliminated them from the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal will still have their eyes on top spot but must first look after their own business and hope Liverpool and Manchester City slip up along the way. West Ham could move up to sixth if things go their way.

This is a superb Sunday afternoon fixture to enjoy, with both teams proving to be incredibly inconsistent in recent weeks.

Man Utd look to be hitting some decent form, winning four of their five games in 2024 so far across the FA Cup and the Premier League. Their attacking play has been more cohesive and the defence has looked more solid, but their whole season has been one false dawn after another.

Aston Villa’s incredible home form means any win for Man Utd will be very impressive, but Unai Emery’s side have stuttered a little lately compared to their early-term form. The FA Cup replay loss against Chelsea in midweek also means the Villans have had a tougher build-up to this game.
