    The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has tried their best to boost the country’s cricket ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup, as they have announced a big salary hike for Sri Lankan players.

    The Sri Lankan Cricket Board made an official statement regarding the same, which said, “Fees for all categories of Sri Lanka’s international players have been increased, with immediate effect.”.

    The Sri Lankan cricket board stated in its official statement that, “As a result, 41 players will receive fresh contract offers from SLC under six different categories: A1, A2, B2, C1, C2, and ‘A’ Team. The greatest pay increase was for Test cricket, at 100% on a merit basis, even though the announcement was made before the ICC T20 World Cup, which will take place in the Caribbean and the US. According to SLC, there will be distinct payout schedules for Test matches that are “won,” “drawn,” or “lost.”

    The $7500 match fee for tests will rise to a maximum of $15,000 upon winning a match. If the test results in a draw, there will be a 66% pay rise, making the reward $12,500; if it finishes in a loss, there will be a 33% increase to $10,000.

    The official statement further added, “In light of this, a player will get a one-time payment as compensation if they are ranked as the “Best Batsman, Best Bowler, or Best All-Rounder based on ICC rankings, covering all formats.” “In the meantime, if a player attains a ranking between 10th and 2nd place in the ICC rankings in the aforesaid categories, such players will also be recognized with a one-time payment.”
