Pakistan suffered an embarrassing loss against Ireland in the first match of the three-match T-20 series between the two sides.
The loss against Ireland has not gone away with the fans, and former cricketers have slammed players for their performances just before the World Cup.
Expressing their displeasure on social media, former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar and Junaid Khan were not so pleased with the team’s performance as they suffered a loss against Ireland for the first time in T20 history.
Shoaib Akhtar was at a loss for words to see Pakistan performing so poorly against Ireland. He posted a couple of emojis to show his frustration over the team’s performance.
On the other hand, former Pakistani pacer Junaid Khan took to his X account and wrote, It’s time to have some serious discussion about the way the team has been performing.
Expressing his anger over the team’s performance, Junaid Khan took to social media and wrote, “We need to seriously check out what mistakes are being made. With such a big event coming up, the team is struggling. First, we only managed to level the series with a weaker New Zealand side, and now we have lost our first t20 against Ireland. Some serious discussion is needed.”
Pakistan will look to bounce back in the series on Sunday, as both teams are scheduled for another face-off at the same venue. After which, Pakistan will travel to England for a four-match T-20 series.
