Shubman Gill In Problem Even After His 104-run Knock Against Chennai Super Kings

The Skipper of Gujarat Titans Shubman Gill has been fined for their slow over rate in the IPL 2024 game against Chennai Super Kings at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday evening.

In this match, Gujarat defeated Chennai Super kings by 35 runs and this has boosted their playoff chances in the ongoing IPL season.

Gill and his team were penalised with a significant fine for their second slow over rate offence in this season of the IPL, in accordance with the league’s Code of Conduct on minimum over rate violations.

Gill was fined Rs 24 lakh, while the other members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, faced fines of either Rs 6 lakh each or 25 percent of their individual match fees, whichever was less.

Despite being punished Gill must be happy for his team victory as the opening batter contributed with a solid hundred for the team.

Gill smashed the fourth century of his IPL career and he got a remarkable 104 runs in 55 balls. He also stitched a 210 runs partnership with his opening partner Sai Sudharshan.

In his knock, Gill got nine fours and six sixes, showcasing his aggressive batting style. Notably, his century marked the 100th century in the history of the IPL.
