Colorado star Travis Hunter picks up new hobby that could keep Deion Sanders up nights

The Colorado Buffaloes are among the most heavily-discussed teams in college football, owing in large part to the bravado of head coach and football legend Deion Sanders. Colorado may have won only four games during the 2023 season, but Coach Prime has maintained his confidence in attracting star talent through the transfer portal to accommodate the team’s main attractions — quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.

Recently, Hunter has picked up a new hobby that — for now — is only at the admiration stage. But Coach Prime might be privately encouraging Hunter to be just an admirer ahead of Colorado’s first season in the Big 12 Conference.

    Hunter experiences bull riding

On May 11, Hunter turned up in Fort Worth, Texas for the first night of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) World Finals. While there, he met an 18-year-old fan named John Crimber — who also happened to be competing in the finals as a professional rodeo cowboy.

Crimber claimed Hunter was his “favorite college football player of all time” and proceeded to earn a $35,000 check for an eight-second bull ride at the event. This seemed to inspire Hunter, who came back for the second night — dressed to impress.

It seemed that Hunter had an epiphany overnight, as the 20-year-old and fiance Leanne Lenee returned for night two on Sunday in Western-style, cowboy-themed drip. Hunter seemed fully engaged with the festivities and even “cut a rug” — dancing and striking a pose during the event.

Privately or not, Coach Prime is probably hoping this is as far as Hunter’s interest in bull riding goes!
