Jamie O’Hara was quick to celebrate Erling Haaland’s opening goal against Tottenham which could have huge Premier League title implications.
The ex-Spurs midfielder was wearing a Citizens shirt in talkSPORT’s watchalong of City’s 2-0 win on Tuesday night that could decide the title.
City‘s victory has lifted Pep Guardiola’s side above Arsenal at the top of the table heading in the final weekend of the season.
After a nervy first-half display from the visitors in north London, goal machine Haaland broke the deadlock in the 51st minute.
The Norwegian striker was on hand to tap home from a matter of yards away after getting on the end of Kevin De Bruyne‘s low cross.
Up jumped O’Hara in celebration, where he was joined by fellow Sports Bar presenter Jason Cundy, who also played for Tottenham in the 1990s.
The pair were delighted at the fact the result could stop Arsenal from winning a first league championship since 2004.
And they were quick to rub salt in the wounds of Arsenal cult hero Perry Groves, who simply put his head to his hands as the back of the net nestled.
He then lunged at the duo in light-hearted fashion as Cundy and O’Hara gleefully reacted to the opening goal.
O’Hara wasn’t the only Spurs fan that was delighted by the opener, with fans at the stadium doing City’s iconic celebration – the Poznan – in the stands.
Things got worse for Groves when Spurs skipper Son Heung-min missed a sitter when sent one-on-one with goalkeeper Stefan Ortega in the latter stages.
And then moments later in the first minute of stoppage time, Haaland doubled his tally by tucking home a penalty.
The result has seen Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League, with Aston Villa confirmed to finish fourth.
But judging from O’Hara’s and the reaction from Spurs fans at the stadium, that is the least of their worries.
