“I don’t understand why…”Yuvraj Singh drops a massive statement on Pakistan’s Super over tactics

Yuvraj Singh, the ambassador for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and a former cricket player for India, questioned Pakistan’s Super Over strategy against the USA during the thrilling game on Thursday, June 6, at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas. In the Super Over match against Pakistan, the USA squad wrote history by pulling off a major upset in the T20 World Cup 2024. Throughout the entire game, the team led by Monank Patel showed their heart on their sleeve.

The USA made sure they defeated Pakistan to record their second straight victory in a major competition, even though the match ended in a draw and ultimately went into a Super Over.

“I don’t understand why didn’t Fakhar Zaman take strike to a lefty seamer – when it is easier for a left hander to hit through the angle that bowler is trying to create Nonetheless have to give it to the USA team for making smart decisions under pressure specially the captain Monark Patel. Now, Pakistan needs a must-win against India & they surely need to bat & field better. With India’s strong start, it’s gonna be hard to beat us!”

With Pakistan aiming for a 19-run target in the Super Over, Mohammad Amir conceded 18 runs against the USA. Given the task of defending 19 runs, USA’s left-arm bowler Saurabh Netravalkar dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan stepped into bat with Zaman.

Shadab and Zaman, however, were seen sprinting for two runs on the second last ball, indicating that the former would be on strike for the final ball. Shadab was unable to connect with the ball, resulting in a 5-run deficit for Pakistan as they needed 7 runs off the final delivery.
