Usain Bolt has admitted he was happy to see Arsenal miss out on the Premier League title to Manchester City due to Gooners ‘talking too much’.
Bolt is a die-hard Manchester United fan and was left celebrating at the end of the season when the club won the FA Cup to qualify for Europe despite finishing eighth in the table.
While Erik ten Hag’s side struggled throughout the campaign, their rivals City, Arsenal and Liverpool battled for the Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola‘s side came out on top with the Gunners finishing in second place, while Liverpool ended the campaign nine points off top in Jurgen Klopp’s final season.
While Bolt would love none of the trio to win the league, he did admit that this season’s outcome was perhaps the most bearable as far as he’s concerned.
Asked who had a more successful season out of Arsenal and United, Bolt told talkSPORT: “It’s like I’m running on a circuit and doing well and then I get to the Championship and win no medals.”
Responding to talkSPORT Drive co-host Darren Bent saying that United’s eighth-place finish isn’t good enough, Bolt said: “Yeah, but we’re in Europe.
“Everybody always asks me who I’d rather win the Premier League out of Arsenal and Man City – I’m like, ‘Man City, easy.’
“People are like, ‘But they’re your rival’.
“I know a lot of Arsenal fans and when they’re top of the table they talk so much and I’m like, ‘You haven’t won yet!’
“Imagine if they actually won? Oh my God, It would be over.
“I’d rather Man City win than Arsenal because I couldn’t deal with it.
“Liverpool? No, because they’d be tied on titles with us and we can’t have that and because Arsenal talk so much, I’d rather deal with Man City.
“They’re all young fans and I don’t know many young people so I’m fine with that!”
