Forgotten Chelsea star throws a tantrum as he reacts furiously to substitution

Hakim Ziyech failed to hide his anger at being taken off in Morocco’s World Cup qualifier with Zambia after throwing a huge tantrum.

The Chelsea winger, who spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Galatasaray, lasted just over an hour in his side’s 2-1 win at Stade Adrar.

Ziyech was furious as he trudged off the pitch following his substitution

It was Ziyech who opened the scoring after just six minutes, as he slotted home a penalty to bring up his 23rd international goal.

But his elation turned to despair during the second half, as he was taken off for Soufiane Rahimi – leaving him furious.

The ex-Ajax star could be seen throwing his arm up in the air when he saw his number was up on the sub board.

And after trudging off the pitch, ex-Wolves defender Romain Saiss went over to put his arm around him, with Ziyech immediately shrugging him off.

He then gestured towards boss Walid Regragui who was waiting for him on the sidelines, with his heated reaction continuing on the bench.

As he slumped to his seat, the 2021 Champions League winner proceeded to take his boots off, where he slammed both of them in anger on the ground.

Ziyech then tossed his ankle tape onto the floor, with fans on social media hitting out at his unnecessary antics.

One X user posted: “Unacceptable behaviour regardless of who you are.”

Another commented: “He p***** me off, who does he think he is? Get out if you’re not happy.”

A third added: “Ziyech we love you, but you have to be careful, [if] you’re bad, you’re going out.”

Joe Cole says he’s worried England are light in defence as Harry Maguire and Jarrad Branthwaite are dropped for Euro 2024

Meanwhile another simply stated: “Ziyech is such a manchild.”

It remains to be seen where Ziyech will be playing his football next season with Galatasaray boasting a buy option in their loan deal.

The forward helped the Turkish giants win the Super Lig title, having chipped in with six goals and three assists in 18 league matches.
