Iga Swiatek cruises to third consecutive French Open title

Iga Swiatek steamrolled to a third consecutive and fourth overall French Open title on Saturday, beating Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1.

Swiatek is the first woman since Justine Henin (2005-07) to win three championships in a row at Roland-Garros.

Her four French Open titles since 2020 are also tied with Henin for the most in a five-year span since World War II.

Swiatek has been dominant during her run, only dropping three sets since the start of the 2022 French Open.

She closed out her 2024 championship by forcing a backhand error against Paolini, one of 21 forced errors by the Italian, who was making her debut in a grand slam final.
