T20 World Cup 2024: Funniest Memes from IND vs PAK, Match 19

India took on Pakistan in Match 19 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County Stadium in New York on June 9. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first. India dealt an early blow as Virat Kohli departed after scoring just four runs. Rohit Sharma followed suit after scoring 13 off 12 deliveries. Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel stitched a much-needed 39-run stand for the third wicket before Axar walked back scoring 20 off 18.

Pant found company in Suryakumar Yadav and the former did all the toiling in the middle. SKY’s arduous seven-run inning came to an end and Shivam Dube’s struggling three off nine balls was of no help. Pant departed after an important 42 off 31 and India’s lower order crumbled, posting just 119 runs. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf picked three wickets each, they were well supported by Mohammad Amir who scalped two.

While chasing, Pakistan were off to a good start as Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan fetched over six runs per over. Babar departed after amassing 13 off 10 balls, Rizwan and Usman Khan’s 31-run partnership made the Indians panic. Axar picked Usman and Hardik outdid Fakhar Zaman in quick successions. Imad Wasim looked slow and out of shots in his 15 off 23 and Shadab Khan was pocketed by Hardik again.

Jasprit Bumrah delivers nerve wracking 19th over

The final two overs demanded 21 runs from Pakistan, but Bumrah bowled a vicious spell and picked Iftikhar Ahmed via a full toss. He gave away just three runs and almost sealed the game for India. Moreover, Bumrah changed the course of the game by picking Rizwan’s wicket in the 15th over. Arshdeep Singh kept it tight until Naseem Shah scored two consecutive boundaries. In the end, he managed to concede just 11 runs and India were home by six runs.
