Kuldeep Yadav, the Indian spinner, spoke of his gratitude to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) team for ensuring his successful recovery after the groin surgery. Ahead of the beginning of his competitive cricket, he penned an emotional message on social media: “It takes a squad for a recovery. Grateful to the NCA and its team for all the efforts behind the scenes.” The 27-year-old spin-bowler has been included in the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series versus England and the ICC Champions T20 championship in the following weeks. The last white-ball he played must have been the first Test match of the Indian series with New Zealand.
Kuldeep recently shared the video of him bowling in the nets at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, having promised his much awaited return to the white-ball format. The 30-year-old is the spear head of the spin department for the upcoming ODI series against England and eight-team marquee tournament and is backed up by all-rounders Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Kuldeep is a left-arm leggie from Uttar Pradesh who plies his trade in domestic cricket for that state’s team while he represents Delhi Capitals in the IPL. The spinner played a major role in India’s victorious 2023 T20 World Cup campaign and their runners-up finish at the home ODI World Cup.
Kuldeep Yadav from India has 68 wickets with two five-wicket hauls in the Men in Blue’s 103 ODIs. The best figures of 6/25 came from his hand during an ODI with the opponent team. He has participated in the ICC T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean. With triumphs in the ACC Asia Cup (`8,’23), he has been one of the leading forces of the Indian team.
With India set to play the Champions Trophy games in Dubai, his role will be crucial in India’s hopes for another victory in the said league cup being in 2013. India is expected to play against England at Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad on February 6, 9, and 12, respectively, talking about the three ODIs.
