Fans have been criticizing AEW for announcing a major title match for the upcoming show. The criticism of the showdown has become the major conversation about All Elite Wrestling, creating a lot of buzz on the internet.
Tony Khan recently announced that Samoa Joe will defend his AEW World Championship against Eddie Kingston at Dynamite: Winter Is Coming. It was after The Mad King delivered a passionate promo on Dynamite this week. While the fans in the arena supported Kingston in his quest for the AEW World Title, people on the internet are majorly against this match.
Some users on X compared Kingston with WWE star Otis, saying the Winter Is Coming match is equal to Otis getting a title match against the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Besides, some people outright rejected the idea of Eddie getting a title match in the company.
Moreover, fans on X called it a deja vu from Jinder Mahal getting a title shot in 2017 in WWE. Additionally, some people even made fun of Eddie Kingston’s physique as well, calling him an undeserving candidate to get a World Title match.
Chris Jericho called out Eddie Kingston as a future AEW World Champion
Chris Jericho has been away from All Elite Wrestling since April this year. While he has been the talk of the town due to his contract expiring with the Jacksonville-based promotion down the line, he made a serious comment about Eddie Kingston on his social media.
Y2J took to Instagram to share Kingston’s epic promo from Dynamite this week. The former WWE Champion acknowledged The Mad King as a future World Champion ahead of his match with Samoa Joe at Winter Is Coming.

Such an acknowledgment by a great like Chris Jericho could certainly be a massive morale boost for Eddie. Only time will tell if he will be able to defeat The Samoan Submission Machine at Winter Is Coming.
