Trevon Diggs and Jadeveon Clowney's status is uncertain for the Cowboys vs the Vikings game

The Cowboys’ next game in Week 15 will see them face the Minnesota Vikings; however, there are some players who might not be available for the matchup, which would reduce Dallas’ chances of securing a victory.

This game is vital for the aspirations of Jerry Jones’ team if they want to remain in contention and turn that minimal opening they still have into a more realistic chance of reaching the postseason with a victory this coming Sunday, December 14.

Unfortunately for the team with the lone star, Trevon Diggs and Jadaveon Clowney would be at risk of not participating in the matchup against the Vikings, which would further weaken a defense that has struggled mightily throughout the 2025 season to remain competitive.

Cowboys list Trevon Diggs, Jake Ferguson and Jadeveon Clowney as questionable for Sunday.

For Jadaveon, things have been complicated for several weeks, as he has been dealing with soreness in both knees and a concussion. As for Trevon Diggs, from Brian Schottenheimer’s perspective, he is still not ready for action and must continue his rehabilitation.

I think he does feel healthy, I know he wants to play, but at the end of the day, we have to do what we think is the best interest of not just him, but also the football team, and when you miss some time, there’s the ramp-up period. It is not just for your body, but for your mind and figuring out some of the defense, and there’s some new faces in the huddle and things like that. So again, love him as a player, but ultimately he’s got to show us he’s ready to do everything the right way.

It is worth remembering that Clowney did not play the previous game against the Detroit Lions due to hamstring issues, and during this week he had very limited participation in practice, although his health improved considerably, which means he could see action against the Vikings.

    The Cowboys’ remaining games

The Cowboys cannot afford to lose a single game if they want any chance, however remote it may seem, of reaching the playoffs. They also depend on the Eagles continuing their collapse.

The following four and final games for Dallas are:

    1. Minnesota Vikings, Sunday, December 14
    2. Los Angeles Chargers, Sunday, December 21
    3. Washington Commanders, Thursday, December 25
    4. New York Giants, Sunday, January 4

Aside from the matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, which would be the most difficult of the remaining games, the other three contests appear winnable, although the divisional games against the Commanders and Giants will be played for pride because they have nothing left to fight for, and that could become a handicap for the Cowboys.
