    Doris Lemngole wins Bowerman Award – Athletics News

    World 3000m steeplechase finalist, Doris Lemngole who finished fifth at the Tokyo Championships has been crowned the 2025 women’s Bowerman Award at a colorful event held on Thursday (18) in Alabama.

    The 23 year-old who has had a very successful season lowered her own National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Record with a time of 8:58.15 and becoming the first collegiate sub-9:00 steepler, a time that moved her into the world all-time top 10

    The Kapenguria born athlete won the NCAA 3000m steeplechase title and also went the 5000m Collegiate Record and set new record time of 14:52.57 indoors in December

    Lemngole also won the NCAA DI Indoor 5000m title in 15:05.93 that moved her number 9 all-time collegiate and she also finished runner-up in the NCAA DI Indoor 3000m, after moving to No. 5 all-time at 8:41.83

    Her season continued with brilliant perfomances as she produced five top-11 all-time collegiate performances in the steeplechase, including the last three Collegiate Records and won steeplechase races in 2025 by margins ranging from 10.53 to 40.77 seconds.
