West Bromwich Albion have now reportedly opened talks to hire a former Manchester United coach to replace the sacked Ryan Mason.

The writing was on the wall for some time for Mason at West Brom. In his first permanent role in the technical area, the former Tottenham Hotspur assistant struggled to make his mark and a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City in midweek proved one poor result too many for the 34-year-old.
Releasing a statement about their decision, West Brom said: “West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with men’s first team Head Coach Ryan Mason. Assistant Head Coach Nigel Gibbs and First Team Coach/Head of Performance Sam Pooley have also departed The Hawthorns.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Ryan, Nigel and Sam for their efforts and wishes all three the very best for the future. First Team Coach James Morrison will oversee first-team affairs on an interim basis until a new staff is appointed. The process of recruiting a new men’s first team Head Coach and staff is under way. “
Corberan 2.0: West Brom could now hire “one of the best young coaches”
West Brom are targeting this exciting young coach to replace Ryan Mason, who could be Carlos Corberan 2.0 at the Hawthorns.
Sat as low as 18th in the Championship, seven points clear of the dropzone and 10 adrift of the playoffs, the Baggies’ next manager must hit the ground running.
The question that remains is just who will arrive to replace Mason. Already, names such as Lee Carsley and former manager Carlos Corberan have been mentioned on that front, but it could yet be an alternative option.
According to Sky Sports, West Brom are now in talks to hire Eric Ramsay from Minnesota in what would be the Welshman’s first managerial job in England.

The 33-year-old may not have experience as a manager in England, but he did work as a coach under Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick at Man United, as well as an assistant manager for Chelsea’s U23s. So, the West Brom job wouldn’t exactly be his first introduction to English football.
The young manager earned high praise during his time working with Ten Hag, too. The Dutchman told reporters: “Eric is a really talented coach, and he is progressing a lot.
“He is ambitious and this will happen, and it will improve him and help him to get new experiences, but also it will improve Manchester United as he will bring experiences back in our coaching.”
In terms of system, Ramsay prefers to operate with a 5-4-1 formation in what would offer the Baggies a completely different look to the 4-2-3-1 used by Mason throughout his tenure.
That could particularly open the door for Josh Maja to earn his starting place back and perhaps even Daryl Dike after so much trouble with injuries during his time in the Midlands.
