Former WWE backstage interviewer Kayla Braxton ended her eight-year run with WWE back in June 2024 on Friday Night SmackDown. Braxton kicked off her career in NXT and soon became one of the most recognisable and successful backstage interviewers in the company. Some of her best work includes her segments along with Paul Heyman on the blue brand during the era of the Bloodline.

Braxton’s exit from the Stamford-based company was seemingly very friendly and healthy, with no reported issues behind the scenes. After leaving the company, she shifted her focus towards hosting, entertainment projects, and opportunities outside professional wrestling.

While her return to the wrestling juggernaut seems off the hook currently, the star has been quite active on social media and fashioned a major change in her look recently. The star revealed that she had got a new colour on her hair, completely changing her look, which has taken the fans by surprise.

“New hair. Lmk what you think,” she wrote.

Former WWE star revealed she hadn’t approached AEW

Since her exit from the wrestling juggernaut, Braxton has been speculated to be on her way to AEW. A Twitter/X user recently took to the star, claiming that she was not transparent about how the Stamford-based company treated her and that she was begging AEW for a role. However, the star immediately turned the entire story down, revealing that she left the Stamford-based company on great terms, and that she hadn’t approached AEW for a contract.

“Interesting theory, Jersey Joe. Incorrect, but creative. I left WWE by choice after 8 years, on good terms, no ghosting, no bad blood. And since we’re clearing things up: I’ve never pursued AEW or any other wrestling company. Hope that helps.” Kayla wrote.

Fans will have to wait and see what Braxton has in store for the future.
