Puka Nacua recently opened up about what happened after he tried to connect with Sydney Sweeney in January.
Speaking with hosts Danny Stein and Sara Saffari on the “One Night with Steiny” podcast, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver said the “Immaculate” actress never responded after he publicly hinted that he would like to take her skydiving.

Stein then asked whether that detail had already been made public.

“Can I break that? Is that breaking or is that out there?” Stein asked.
“I mean, that that one’s out there,” Nacua replied.
Saffari suggested that Sweeney possibly being in a relationship could explain the silence.
“I’m like, I think she has a boyfriend. That might be the only reason. No response,” she said.
Nacua agreed that explanation would make sense.
“I hope so,” he said. “I’m like, yeah, it has to be. That makes sense. And I understand. I’m like, I would be mad if somebody like was openly shooting their shot at my girl, too. After I figured that information out, try to play it play it cool. Yeah. All right.”
During an interview with Cosmopolitan on Jan. 30, Sydney Sweeney described the kind of partner she is looking for, saying she prefers someone who is “athletic, outgoing, and funny.”
She also mentioned wanting a partner willing to try adventurous activities like skydiving and mountain climbing.
A day later, on Jan. 31, Nacua quote-posted the interview on X, writing: “Love skydiving.”
Nacua leaned into the joke during Pro Bowl week. While speaking with Overtime on Feb. 3, Nacua joked that he already had plans for a skydiving date with Sweeney.
Two days later at NFL Honors, Nacua admitted he actually has a fear of heights but joked that Sweeney could “calm those nerves.”
Sweeney previously ended her engagement to film producer Jonathan Davino in early 2025. She has recently been linked to music executive Scooter Braun.
Meanwhile, Nacua has recently been seen spending time with several influencers, including Hannah Stocking in late January, Sara Saffari in February and Overtime Megan at a Los Angeles Kings game on Monday.
The Rams receiver was also spotted alongside WWE star Charlotte Flair at the Daytona 500 in Florida on Feb. 15.

On Thursday’s episode of the “One Night with Steiny” podcast, Puka Nacua said he was caught off guard by how quickly photos from his outing with Overtime Megan started circulating online.
“I woke up to a lot of texts,” Nacua said.. “It was like uh my Instagram DMs were that everybody was sending. I was like, ‘The NFL like the app that they have to show you like the photos posted. The NFL — the NFL sent me a photo that they took of us.’ I was like, ‘I didn’t know the NFL was even there last night.’“
Host Danny Stein joked that even the league had joined in sharing the moment.
“Damn, bro. The own league is doing you like that. I mean, in their defense, and I’m going to coach you up on this,” Stein said.
Nacua played along and asked the host for advice.
“Coach me up,” he replied.
Stein then suggested that the Rams receiver might want to be a little more discreet when appearing in public with influencers.
“You’re putting yourself a little too out there with certain people, bro. You got to move more in silence,” Stein said.
Wanting to know what he meant, Nacua asked for more details.
Stein explained that sitting in highly visible seats next to a well-known influencer in Los Angeles almost guarantees attention.
“You don’t sit on the glass with a influencer girl and not expect to get a photo taken of you in LA,” he said.
Nacua laughed and agreed with the logic.
