A 2-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been arrested after domestic violence allegations and is facing multiple years in prison
Thanks for the submission!
New details have now come out in the case of former WWE champion Alberto Del Rio, who was reportedly arrested on Monday in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The same came after there were allegations of domestic violence against his partner. He has not been convicted of any crime yet, and as such, until a conviction, is presumed innocent.
As per reports by Milenio, after the arrest of Del Rio on April 6, the star could be facing a long time in prison. The penal code in the state of San Luis Potosi punishes anyone with one to seven years in prison for the crime of family vioence, as well, as 20 to 700 days of the Unit of Measurement and Update. The UMA is used to determine the amount of payment obligation involved in federal and state laws. It is used to calculate fines. While if convicted he could face one to seven years, there is a worse outcome as well.
If tried for the crime of Injuries Commited against Women Based on Their Gender, there is a sentence of eight to 20 years in prision, as well as a penalty of 400 to 700 days of the value of UMA. With that being the case, if found guilty, Del Rio could be facing up to 20 years in prison.

When the police had arrived, the assault was allegedly ongoing, so the ex-WWE star was immediately arrested and placed under disposal of the Attorney General’s Office.
This is not the first time that he has been involved in such a situation either, with the star, with him previously being accused of physical abuse by ex-WWE star Paige. The star was also charged with s*xual assault in the case of another woman, but all charges were dropped.
