Jenna Ortega returns to her role as the death-obsessed detective, supported by the core Addams clan: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Fred Armisen. This season also sees a major promotion for Joanna Lumley, who moves from a guest spot to a series regular as the Grandmama.
The fresh cast of Wednesday season 3 includes Lena Headey, alongside Andrew McCarthy and James Lance. Besides them, Winona Ryder is also set to appear in the upcoming season.
Nevermore expands: Every new face joining Jenna Ortega in Wednesday season 3
The new guest stars in the series include Lena Headey, whose portrayal of Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones earned her five Emmy nominations and global recognition as a premier television antagonist.
Another major addition is Andrew McCarthy, a central figure of the 1980s “Brat Pack.” Fans remember him for his iconic roles in coming-of-age classics like Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo’s Fire, as well as the cult comedy Weekend at Bernie’s. Another new face in Wednesday season 3 includes James Lance, who is best known for playing journalist Trent Crimm in Ted Lasso.
The upcoming season in the gothic series will also feature Winona Ryder, who appeared in Netflix’s popular series, Stranger Things, which completed its five-season run last year. Ryder’s casting marks a major reunion with director Tim Burton, with whom she collaborated on Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.
While all of the new cast members’ roles are still unknown, Ryder is expected to play a character named Tabitha. The previously confirmed actors in the upcoming season include Eva Green, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer.
The Wednesday season 3 ensemble also features returning and supporting cast members, including Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, and Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay. They are joined by Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.
The lineup also includes Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Ritchie Santiago, and Victor Dorobantu as Thing. Rounding out the cast are Evie Templeton as Agnes DeMille, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.
Season 3 is currently in production. Following the success of the second season last year, filming officially began in February 2026, with the cast and crew working in and around Dublin, Ireland. Netflix has excluded the series from its 2026 release slate, making a summer 2027 premiere the most probable timeline. However, a confirmed release window is yet to be revealed.
