Perez Hilton shared his reaction following the sentencing of Jasveen Sangha, dubbed the “Ketamine Queen”, in connection with the death of Matthew Perry. For context, Sangha, identified as a drug dealer, was responsible for supplying ketamine to Perry that ultimately led to the actor’s fatal overdose.
Referring to Ketamine Queen’s legal predicament, in his website article published on April 9, Hilton addressed his readers directly, asking their opinion on whether the punishment was appropriate or too lenient.
“Jasveen Sangha AKA the “Ketamine Queen” in the case of Matthew Perry‘s tragic death, has been sentenced…What do U think about this sentencing, Perezcious readers? Do U think it’s fair — or is it way too light?” he asked
In his website article, Perez Hilton went on to provide further context around the court proceedings. He noted that Matthew Perry’s stepmother, Debbie Perry, had urged the court to impose the maximum possible sentence on Sangha
Despite those efforts, he reported that, as per KABC-TV, the “federal judge” only gave her “15 years in prison” for her “involvement in the Friends star’s death.”
“Not the maximum sentence Debbie was searching for, that’s for sure. Sangha was looking at up to 65 years in prison for her involvement,” Hilton added.
The podcaster further expressed condolences to Perry’s loved ones, acknowledging the emotional toll of the case.
“Our heart is with Matthew’s loved ones as they continue to process all this and deal with the devastating loss,” he added.
Matthew Perry’s stepmother appeals for maximum sentence for “Ketamine Queen” in emotional court statement

According to a report by People magazine dated April 7, three years after the death of Matthew Perry, his stepmother spoke out about the enduring impact of his loss.
In a victim impact statement submitted to the court on Tuesday, April 7, Debbie Perry described the profound and lasting grief caused by Perry’s death. Her statement was submitted a day before Sangha’s sentencing.
In her statement, she urged the judge to impose the maximum sentence on Jasveen Sangha
“The pain you’ve caused to hundreds, maybe thousands, is irreversible…There is no joy… No light in the window. They won’t be back,” Debbie wrote in the statement reviewed by People Magazine.
She then directly criticized Sangha’s choices, stating that she “caused this.”
“You caused this… You who has talent for business enough to make money chose the one way that hurts people,” Perry’s stepmother wrote.
In her closing remarks, Debbie made a final appeal to the court, urging that strong action be taken to prevent further harm to others.
“Please give this heartless woman the maximum prison sentence so she won’t be able to hurt other families like ours,” she wrote.
