The injury plague has marred the road to WrestleMania 42. Several top WWE stars are in danger of missing the Showcase of the Immortals.
Usually, every title is defended on the Show of Shows, but it hasn’t been the case this year. The creative made a number of changes to the card for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. It seems like a midcard title won’t be on the line this weekend.
Thanks for the submission!
An update has emerged on the future of the Women’s United States Championship, and it’s not looking good.
The card for WrestleMania 42, as it currently stands, has only 13 matches across both nights. Rumor has it that 14 matches will go down at the Grandest Stage of Them All this year, of which the original idea was to have six women’s matches. However, only four women’s matches have been made official so far.
WWE had to scrap Asuka vs. IYO SKY, pending Nikki Bella’s medical clearance. Another match that initially seemed on the card was Giulia defending her Women’s United States Championship against Tiffany Stratton and Jordynne Grace.
According to Ibou of Self-Made Sessions, a triple-threat match was in the works for WrestleMania 42, but it is no longer on the cards despite Jordynne Grace returning from injury in time for the two-night marquee event.
“She’s [Giulia] not at ‘Mania… She was on the card like a month and a half ago, but she was on it. In fact, in one of the versions of ‘Mania, it was going to be her, Jordynne, and Tiffany in a three-way.”
Is WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia injured?
Giulia has been off television since beating Tiffany Stratton on the March 27 episode of WWE SmackDown.
According to her coach, the Beautiful Madness was banged up following her last match. She was said to be dealing with lower back, knee, hip, and shoulder pain.
“Giulia came into her session very banged up from her championship defense last Friday on SmackDown. Normally, this would be our full lower-body workout day. But today was not a good day for that because she was in so much pain. Lower back pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulders, you name it. So instead of sticking to the original plan, we adapted today on the fly, and the goal is simply to have her walk out of the gym feeling better. Thankfully, through a full-body activation mobility stretching circuit, we were able to achieve that goal. And now we’ll be prepared to push harder tomorrow.”
WWE still has one more SmackDown episode left, which will serve as the go-home show before WrestleMania 42.
Will Nick Aldis add the aforementioned scraped match to the Show of Shows? Fans must tune in this Friday to find out.
