LeBron James will close his 23rd NBA season with an opportunity to keep stacking the bricks of an almost flawless résumé.
The 41-year-old has been given the gargantuan challenge of leading the Los Angeles Lakers past Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves by his side.
James will be a free agent at the end of the season, so this may not only be his final series dressed in Purple & Gold; it might be his final series, period.
However, in a sit-down with sports anchor Craig Carton, NBA commissioner Adam Silver dismissed the notion of retirement, stating that James plans to run it back for at least another season.
Adam Silver says LeBron James isn’t retiring yet
“Yeah, but he — no, I haven’t talked to him since the season ended. I mean, I have every indication that he plans to keep playing next season,” Silver said.
