Chelsea star Cole Palmer has opened up about head coach Liam Rosenior amid the club’s recent struggles. The Englishman defended Rosenior ahead of the final six Premier League games for the Blues.
Liam Rosenior took over the helm at Chelsea in January this year, after the sacking of former coach Enzo Maresca. Under his helm, the Blues have not been at their best, as they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the Round of 16 after an 8-2 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). They are also struggling to secure UCL football this season, as they stand sixth in the table with 48 points from 32 games.
Thanks for the submission!
In an interview with The Guardian, Chelsea star Cole Palmer weighed in on Liam Rosenior’s situation at the club. He believed a proper pre-season followed by a complete situation could help Rosenior make an actual difference at Stamford Bridge. He said:
“Bringing a manager in mid-season, you have no pre-season, hardly have time to train. You’re just focusing on games. But the manager is good and when he has a proper pre-season and gets his ideas across properly and the way he wants to play he’s a top coach. If we as players perform to how we should be performing and we get the right players we can, him and us as a group, do some work.”
Amid Chelsea’s dip in form, Cole Palmer has also been criticized for recording lower numbers than his optimum level. The Englishman has also been suffering from injuries, recording 10 goals and three assists in 27 outings across competitions. The Blues will now focus on the upcoming FA Cup semi-final on April 26 and finishing within the top five in the league.
Chelsea star Cole Palmer claims he’s no plans to leave the club amid Manchester United links

In an interview with The Guardian, Chelsea star Cole Palmer confirmed that he has no plans to leave Stamford Bridge this summer amid links to Manchester United.
“It’s something we’re working on together. We’re on the same page. We want to win now and I think if we add right in the summer we can compete for serious trophies next season. I don’t think we’re far off. If you sign the right players in the right positions and the right characters and profiles, I think we have more than enough quality to compete and be more consistent than we’ve shown over this season,” he said.
He added:
“I’ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We’ve still got a lot to play for. We’ve got the FA Cup semi-final [against Leeds] and if we finish in a Champions League spot it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need. We spoke to the owners and they’re sure of the players that are gonna do it. Reece won’t sign a six-year contract if he’s not spoken to the owners and the directors.”
Palmer hopes to lead the Blues to the FA Cup while securing Champions League football this season. He is also expected to play an important role for England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.
