Chelsea’s nightmare Premier League run continued as they were beaten 1-0 at home to Manchester United on Saturday night.
Matheus Cunha scored the only goal of the game at Stamford Bridge to boost the Red Devils‘ Champions League qualification hopes.
The Brazilian fired home in the 43rd minute after getting on the end of Bruno Fernandes’ low cross into the box.
Chelsea pushed on for an equaliser – hitting the woodwork twice in the second half.
But they failed to get back on level terms, with fans loudly booing following the full-time whistle.
United, who are third in the table, are now ten points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea with just five games to go.
Their victory has also seen them do the Premier League double against the Blues for just the second time – having first doneso in the 2019/20 season.
As for Chelsea, they are now in a fight for Europe altogether – despite being one place off the European Cup spots.
Just three points separate Chelsea and west London rivals Fulham in 12th spot. Chelsea are only in sixth spot on goal difference, with Brentford and Bournemouth level with them on 48 points.

It’s worrying times for the two-time Champions League winners having now lost four top-flight games in a row.
In an unwanted piece of club history, boss Liam Rosenior has become the first manager to lose as many consecutive Premier League matches without scoring.
As well as United, they failed to get on the score sheet in the losses to Newcastle, Everton and Manchester City.
Chelsea have previously lost four Premier League matches in a row without scoring, but that was spread across two managers – RuudGullit and Gianluca Vialli – in 1998.
It is also the first time Chelsea have lost three home Premier League games for the first time in 31 years.
Incredibly, no other team in Europe’s ‘Top Five’ leagues have lost more games across all competitions since the start of Marchthan Chelsea [seven].
To make matters worse for Chelsea, they lost winger Estevao early in the first half due to injury.
The Brazilian pulled up after racing clear on goal, with replays showing his leg appearing to buckle.
It’s been an injury-hit campaign so far for the 18-year-old, who has only just returned from a hamstring knock.
Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping it’s nothing too serious ahead of the World Cup this summer.
Chelsea will be looking to avoid a fifth successive loss when they face Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday night.
