The gameplay loop of the Cosmic Data Roaming event is exceptionally simple. Although it’s not the same, it has some resemblance to Currency Wars and the previous anniversary event, Star Rail WORLD. You can pull characters from the “Draw” feature. Each unit has its own rarity, and acquiring multiple of the same ones will upgrade them.
Now, you must use these characters to build a composition to fight enemies and clear stages. Each team features seven character slots, which you will unlock as you progress through the event. Furthermore, if you are unsure of what compositions to pick, there is a “Recommended Line-Ups” option to help you choose the best one you can build.
Moving over to teams, every single one is divided into two parts: On-Field/Deploy and Off-Field/Support. As their name suggests, characters in Deploy will actively fight enemies, while Supports will help them from the back lines. One unique thing you’ll see is that you can level up the slots instead of the characters. Hence, you can change teams mid-fight or upgrade them without many consequences.
Now, every time you defeat an opponent, there is a chance that they will drop Normal Equipment, including four Relic and two Planar Ornament pieces. Furthermore, you can get Legendary Equipment that can only be used by certain characters. The higher their levels, the more Combat Power they’ll offer. Since each stage features a recommended power, you must reach it before starting or while completing to ensure your victory.
It’s extremely important, as you have to clear most boss stages in a certain amount of time. Otherwise, you’ll fail and have to challenge it again with a stronger composition. After completing every stage of a Chapter, you can Live Linkup with the area and move to the next one.
